BC Stats works in the browser today: you take a screenshot of the final scoreboard, upload it, check the result and save it. It works, but after a long session it means finding a dozen files and uploading them by hand. BC Stats Desktop is a planned Windows app that removes those steps.
Status: in development. The app is not available yet. This page describes what it is meant to do.
What the desktop app is meant to do
- Watch your screenshot folder. You choose where your screenshots are saved – for example the Steam screenshots folder – and the app notices new files as you take them.
- Recognise end-of-match screens. The same analyzer as on the website checks whether a new screenshot is a final scoreboard and reads the result, mode, map, kills and deaths.
- Add matches to your history. Results go to the same private BC Stats account, so your charts on the website update without a manual upload.
- Let you review uncertain results. Anything the analyzer is unsure about waits for your check instead of being saved automatically.
Why a desktop app, if the website already works?
The website is perfect for adding a few matches. The desktop app is for players who play often and want their history to stay complete without thinking about it. The fewer steps between a match and your stats, the fewer matches get lost.
Does it touch the game? No.
This is the most important point. BC Stats Desktop is designed to work only with image files that you save yourself:
- it does not read the game's memory,
- it does not inject anything into the game or modify game files,
- it does not connect to Bodycam servers or your game account,
- it does not draw an overlay over the game.
It does exactly what the website does – reads a screenshot – just without the manual upload. Bodycam runs on Windows only, so the app is planned for Windows.
Privacy stays the same
As on the website, screenshots are analysed on your own computer. Only the match result you keep is saved to your private account. There are still no public rankings and no player search.
Until then
The browser version has everything you need right now. Take a clean 2D screenshot of the final scoreboard (how to) and add it in the analyzer. All matches you save now will be in the same account when the desktop app is ready.
