Versus is a round-based team mode: each round you get one life, and the team that wins enough rounds wins the match.
What it means for your stats
As in Wingman, one life per round keeps numbers low and makes each death count. Look at win rate and at deaths per match โ fewer deaths usually means you are trading smarter.
Tips
- Surviving a round you cannot win is often worth more than one more kill: you keep your loadout and your team keeps a player.
Read Versus as a round-based mode
Versus keeps kill and death totals lower than respawn modes because each round gives you one life. That means raw averages are not directly comparable with Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch. A five-kill Versus result can represent a very different match from a five-kill respawn game.
In BC Stats, use the Versus row in the mode breakdown before judging the all-mode average. Focus on win rate, K/D and deaths per match together. Survival matters because every death removes a player from the current round; that makes deaths especially useful context for the match result.
K/D and K-D answer different questions
K/D is efficiency: how many kills you record for each death. K-D is volume after subtracting deaths from kills. In low-count round modes, both can swing quickly. A 4/2 match has a K/D of 2.0 and K-D of +2, while a 7/5 match has a lower K/D of 1.4 but the same +2 differential. BC Stats keeps both ideas available so one ratio does not hide the underlying totals.
Over a larger Versus sample, a falling death average with stable or improving win rate is worth noticing even if kills do not increase. The mode rewards surviving rounds that cannot be won immediately, so fewer unnecessary deaths can matter more than chasing another engagement.
Do not overread a tiny sample
Because the numbers are small, one unusual match can move the averages sharply. Build enough saved Versus games that the trend survives more than one opponent, map or short streak. Use recent ranges to see form, but compare them with the full mode history before deciding that your play has changed.
Map statistics can add another layer. If your Versus win rate is weak on one map but normal elsewhere, that is more actionable than a broad all-mode decline. The goal of the tracker is to narrow the question until you know what to review in your own gameplay.
A practical way to review a Versus session
Start with the result column rather than the biggest kill number. Count how many matches were wins, then look at deaths per match and K/D across the same sample. If win rate improves while deaths fall, that is a useful pattern even when kills stay flat. If K/D spikes because of one nearly deathless game, widen the range before drawing a conclusion. Finally, compare the maps in the sample. Round-based modes can produce very small totals, so one map or one short streak can dominate the average more easily than in a long respawn mode.
The aim is to use the saved history to ask a narrower question: are you surviving more rounds, converting that survival into wins, and doing it across more than one map? That is more informative than chasing the highest single-match ratio.
